I am a great fan of the Waitrose approach to wine discounting because, unlike most of the big supermarkets in the UK, they mainly forego '25% off 6 bottle' reductions approach and instead offer decent discounts on a reasonable selection of wines. Reductions on each selection are maintained for a number of weeks and, more often than not, when these come to an end another group of wines come on offer. Below are my latest recommendations from the current offer which runs until 12 November 2024. I have made up 'a mixed case of 12 bottles' but only comment in detail on five of them since I have recommended the remaining seven in previous posts. In these cases you will see I have provided the relevant link and an updated price. Although we are all conscious of inflation and increasing alcohol duty I think you will agree that all 12 bottles here are still very competitively priced.

The Doctors Sauvignon Blanc - £9.99 reduced to £7.99
Atlantique Sauvignon Blanc - £8.99 reduced to £6.49
They certainly don't come cheaper than this these days. This is Sauvignon Blanc from France, all tropical fruit and citrus and not particularly sophisticated but ideal for midweek dining.
Scorvino Pinot Noir - £8.99 reduced to £6.99
There are a number of Pinot Noirs available from Romania and this is a cheap, easy-drinking crowd-pleaser. It is light, fresh and juicy and a world away from the great Pinot Noirs from Burgundy. It's also a good choice when you want a rest from the hearty jammy reds.
Triade Rosso - £9.99 reduced to £7.49
The name doesn't give much away here other than it's a red wine with potentially something to do with the number 3. In fact, it's a blend of three varieties from the heal of Italy - Primitivo, Negroamaro and Nero di Troia. Deep red, full bodied and silky smooth it goes down a treat. Waitrose sell a Triade Bianco too, a blend of Fiano, Falanghina and Greco from Southern Italy, although sadly it's not on offer at the moment.
Paolo Leo Fiano del Salentino - £10.99 reduced to £7.99
This is the most expensive wine in my selection but offers good value for money at the discounted price. It's another wine from Puglia and from a well-respected producer. Citrus and tropical fruit notes combined with a buttery texture gives the wine body and character.
